Welcome to the EFLUA website, we have developed this site to benefit our members with the aim to keep you all updated through-out the season with our latest news and events.

Fitness Coach – Peter Enright
Peter has umpired more than 250 EFL games including three first division grand finals. He will provide an extensive fitness program developed from his many years' of involvement in umpiring fitness. The variation of the training program will help to improve fitness and reinvigorate umpires through using alternative training venues and applications.
Field Umpire Coach - Shane Mason
Shane brings to EFL umpiring a wealth of experience including 188 VFL senior matches, 40 AFL reserves matches, 3 VFL reserve grand finals, 13 VFL senior finals and was a VFL senior observer in 2009 & 2010. Shane is also a life member of the VFL and will play a major role in developing the field umpiring group in season 2011.
Boundary Umpire Coach - Des Seaton
Des joins us again for season 2011 which is his fifteenth in the EFL including eight seasons as the boundary couch. His experience over this period has earnt him a Level One Umpire Coach accreditation with the AFL. Looking to further expand his panel of umpires, Des will focus on the growth and development of the boundary umpiring group.
Development Coach - Chris Powney
Chris joins our coaching panel with a wealth of EFL experience having umpired over 300 games, three Division One grand finals and several interleague matches. Whilst continuing to umpire, Chris's primary role will be to assist Des in skills sessions at training and observing new umpires.
Goal Umpire Coach - Garry Baumgarten
Garry brings with him over 150 games of VFL/AFL goal umpiring experience. After leaving the AFL he took over the role of umpires advisor with the VAFA for 5 years, before returning to the AFL as a senior goal umpire observer in 1997 and 1998. This will be Garry's fourth season in this role.
Junior Umpires Coach – Phil Hermann
Phil continues in this role for his tenth season. His knowledge and skill has developed many of our current senior umpiring list. Phil has umpired over 450 games with the EFL including many finals. Phil continues to umpire and assist the development of our young umpires.
Head Observer - Bruce Onken
Commencing this role in 2008, Bruce will continue to assist the field umpires' coaches in the development of the field umpiring panel.
Senior Observer - Marc Lawson
Former field umpires coach, Marc Lawson, returns to the coaching panel in 2011. Having had a very successful umpiring career in the EFL, Marc will again assist in the development of the field umpires panel.
Colts Observer - Darren Robertson
Darren will observe our up and coming young umpires that are coming through colts football and show potential to step up to senior football. Darren has vast experience in junior and senior competitions which make him well suited to this role.
